Delco ENA Member selected to receive national ENA honor

Posted about 13 years ago by Drew McLuckie

Delaware County ENA Chapter 51 member Joyce Foresman-Capuzzi, MSN, has been selected by the Emergency Nurses Association as the recipient of the 2012 Gail P. Lenehan Advocacy award.

From the ENA: "This award is given to a nurse that has had a positive impact on emergency nurses through a sustained commitment of advocacy for emergency nurses' well-being and welfare (one example might be the health and safety of emergency nurses) or the welfare of vulnerable populations (the homeless, sexual assault victims, or victims of drunk drivers, for example). This may be demonstrated by advocacy in one or more of the following areas: education, awareness campaigns, public speaking, legislative/regulation activities, policy and standards activities, or other activities."

Only one recipient is selected nationally from among all those nominated. The award will be presented in the fall at the ENA conference in San Diego, CA.

For anyone who knows Joyce, this comes as no great shock- she is a very dedicated and engaged educator, and we are very fortunate to have her as a member of our chapter.

Congratulations Joyce!
